Frequently Asked Questions

Hard Part Done Community

What exactly is Hard Part Done?

Hard Part Done is a private community built for Etsy sellers.

The focus is practical: what to sell, when to sell, how to research it, how to design and list it, what the data actually means, and what to do when something isn’t working.

You’ll also get access to resources, ongoing product opportunities, community discussions, my current methods and, depending on your membership tier, additional tools and support.

It’s for people at different stages of Etsy.

You might be thinking about opening your first store, already have 100 listings with barely any movement, or be getting sales but struggling to grow consistently.

The advice shouldn’t be identical for all three.

Your experience, skills, profession, available time, product type and current store situation matter. That’s why the community is built around practical direction rather than one generic roadmap for everyone.

No.

You can join before opening your first store. We can start with choosing the right business model, finding a niche, understanding what to sell and setting things up properly.

I’d actually rather see someone think through those decisions first than upload 50 random products and try to fix everything later.

No. Hard Part Done is for Etsy sellers.

Digital products are our main focus right now because a large part of my experience, systems and current resources are built around them.

But physical-product and POD sellers can join too. Upcoming training, modules and the Live Etsy Bootcamp will cover Etsy more broadly, including physical products and print-on-demand.

If you’re building on Etsy, the community is relevant to you.

You aren’t buying a folder of videos and being left alone with it.

Hard Part Done is a community where you get practical resources, ongoing updates, direct access to me, the methods I’m currently using and, depending on your tier, access to additional tools and support.

I’m not particularly interested in spending 40 minutes showing you where the Etsy search bar is.

I care about the decisions that actually require thinking. What should you sell? Why could it sell? What does the data really tell you? Which Etsy advice should you ignore? Why isn’t a listing moving? What should you do next?

That critical approach is a big part of Hard Part Done.

You’ll get researched product opportunities and enough information to understand why an opportunity may be worth exploring.

But I don’t want everyone blindly creating the same product.

Your profession, skills, experience, interests, available time and strengths should influence what you sell. The goal is to help you make a better decision, not make every decision for you.

Yes. This is one of the ideas behind Hard Part Done that I care about quite a lot.

A teacher, accountant, designer, realtor, HR professional or wedding planner already understands problems, documents and workflows that someone outside that profession would have to research from scratch.

We can use what you already know to find digital-product opportunities that make sense for you.

You may already be sitting on your niche without realizing it.

Yes.

Product opportunities are an important part of Hard Part Done. The aim is to give you useful context around the opportunity rather than dropping a product name into the community and disappearing.

Depending on the research available, that can include the product itself, buyer, timing, use case, market signals and other information that helps you decide whether it deserves your time.

Yes.

But the focus is practical SEO rather than collecting keywords because a tool gave them a nice-looking score.

We cover buyer intent, keywords, titles, tags, descriptions, attributes, search behavior, ranking signals and how those pieces work together.

We’ll also challenge a lot of Etsy SEO advice that gets repeated without enough context.

Yes, and research is a major part of Hard Part Done.

We look at demand, competition, buyers, search behavior, existing products, visual patterns, seasonal timing and other market signals.

The objective is to get better at answering one question before spending hours designing:

Is this worth making?

Yes.

The emphasis is on creating products that work for the buyer rather than trying to turn everyone into a professional graphic designer.

We cover design research, Canva, useful AI tools, product presentation, thumbnails, visual hierarchy and other practical design decisions.

More detailed design training will continue to be added through courses and community resources.

No.

I don’t use your time and engagement to make the community look active.

Come in when you need an idea, research, feedback, an answer or some direction. Use what helps you and get back to your work.

Hard Part Done is an execution-first community.

The community is built around useful activity rather than forcing members to post every day.

You can expect ongoing product opportunities, discussions, updates and resources, but there is no participation requirement for members.

You don’t need another social network to keep up with.

Yes.

Use the community discussions and Q&A areas whenever you need direction. You can also reach out to me where your membership provides that access.

I’d much rather answer a specific question than watch someone spend three days trying random fixes.

It depends on your membership or program.

Regular members receive community support and structured Q&A.

Premium members receive additional support, including blocker calls where included.

VIP members and Live Bootcamp participants can receive one-to-one support according to what’s included in their plan or program.

Blocker calls are designed for situations where you’ve reached a specific problem that is difficult to solve properly through a few messages.

They are part of the Premium membership tier, subject to the terms and availability of that tier.

They’re there to help you get unstuck, not turn every small Etsy question into a Zoom meeting.

Hard Part Done has different membership tiers with different levels of access.

The Standard membership is extremely affordable to filter out the serious people for the community.

Premium and VIP options provide additional benefits and support. Current pricing and exactly what’s included in each tier are shown on the Hard Part Done Skool membership page when you join.

Prices and membership structures may change as the community develops.

Yes.

Hard Part Done has three membership levels:

Standard, Premium and VIP.

The level of resources, Studio access and personal support varies between tiers. You’ll see the current inclusions and pricing when choosing your membership.

Yes.

You can cancel your subscription at any time according to the cancellation process provided through the membership platform.

Your access and applicable membership benefits will continue or end according to the terms of your subscription and billing period.

Benefits are connected to an active membership.

If you cancel or leave before features such as HPD Studio become available to your membership, you should not expect to retain benefits reserved for active members.

If you join again later, the pricing, tier structure and benefits available at that time may be different.

Community membership payments are non-refundable due to the digital nature of the resources available in the community. Please review the membership details before purchasing.

You can cancel future renewals at any time.

What is HPD Studio?

HPD Studio is the AI-assisted Etsy tool I’m building for Hard Part Done members.

The idea came from a problem I kept running into with traditional Etsy tools. Numbers and estimates are useful, but someone still has to look at the market, compare signals, understand the buyer and decide what those numbers actually mean.

Studio is being built to take on more of that research and repetitive work.

Think of it as an extra member of your Etsy team rather than another dashboard you pay for and forget about.

Yes.

Digital products remain a major focus, but upcoming modules and broader Etsy training will also cover physical products and print-on-demand.

The Live Etsy Bootcamp is also intended to teach Etsy more broadly rather than restricting every lesson to digital downloads.

HPD Studio is currently under development.

Early versions will be introduced to eligible Hard Part Done members as the beta becomes ready.

The tool will develop gradually rather than launching with 47 half-finished features on day one. I prefer getting a smaller number of useful things right first.

No.

HPD Studio is being built specifically as part of Hard Part Done membership only rather than as a standalone public SaaS product.

You need an eligible, active Hard Part Done membership to access it.

HPD Studio access is included with the Premium tier, according to the features and usage allowances available at that time.

Studio access is not automatically included with every Hard Part Done membership.

Studio is being developed around the harder and more repetitive parts of running an Etsy business.

The direction includes product and opportunity research, market signals, keyword research, buyer intent, Etsy SEO, titles, tags, descriptions and listing preparation.

Future versions may go further into design assistance, listing workflows, store analysis and post-sale analysis. You can read the dedicated page for HPD studio to learn more in detail.

Traditional research tools can give you valuable data, estimates and signals. The difficult part is interpreting them properly.

HPD Studio is being developed around the way an experienced seller researches manually: looking at multiple signals, comparing products, understanding visual information, considering buyer behavior and putting the information into context before reaching a conclusion.

It should reduce how much manual work you need to do, but I don’t want it replacing your judgment.

The goal is to let AI handle more of the digging, comparison, repetitive analysis and technical work so you have more time for product quality, creativity and the decisions where your experience actually matters.

No.

No tool can responsibly guarantee that your product will rank or sell.

Studio can help with research, SEO, listing preparation and decision-making, but Etsy performance also depends on your product, competition, buyer behavior, pricing, conversion, market timing and factors outside our control.

Yes.

HPD Studio uses AI, including OpenAI technology, as part of its research and execution features.

The important part isn’t simply putting “AI” on another Etsy tool. We’re working on teaching the system how to interpret the kinds of signals an experienced seller would actually look at.

The planned 60-Day Live Etsy Bootcamp is a small-group program where we’ll work through Etsy together in practical live sessions.

It is designed for absolute beginners as well as existing sellers who are struggling to make progress.

We’ll cover the process from foundations and product decisions through research, listings, SEO, pricing, traffic and optimization.

No.

The Live Etsy Bootcamp is a separate paid program.

Bootcamp participants will also receive access to the Standard Hard Part Done membership as part of the program, subject to the terms announced for that cohort.

The first cohort is planned for a maximum of 10 participants.

As I want enough room to look at what people are actually building, answer questions properly and provide individual attention.

Yes.

One-to-one support is planned as part of the Live Bootcamp experience, alongside live classes, Q&A and group learning.

The exact format and availability will be explained before enrollment.

The starting date has not been finalized yet.

A waitlist will be used to notify interested people when the schedule, pricing and enrollment details are ready.

I don’t plan on putting people through unnecessary three or four-hour sessions.

The Bootcamp will use shorter live sessions spread across approximately 60 days so the material is easier to consume and can fit around normal work and everyday responsibilities.

Session timings will be arranged around what works for the majority of the cohort.

There isn’t one honest answer to this.

Someone opening their first Etsy store has a different starting point from someone with 300 listings and three years of sales data.

Your product, market, experience, time, execution, pricing and competition all matter.

Hard Part Done is designed to help you reduce bad decisions and execute with clearer direction. It does not promise a specific income or timeline.

No.

You are joining for research, systems, resources, tools, education and support. You still have to build and run the business.

Anyone guaranteeing you a particular number of Etsy sales simply because you bought their membership would make me suspicious too.

You don’t have to sit through beginner material just to participate.

Experienced sellers can use the community for research, product opportunities, Studio access where included, market discussions, store decisions, testing ideas and getting another perspective when something isn’t working.
